A wrap is a variation of a sandwich, a sandwich has two distinct layers which are the top and bottom pieces of bread. A wrap, on the other hand, is one piece that completely surrounds the content of the wrap.
A wrap is a type of sandwich alternative made with a soft flatbread rolled around a filling.The usual flatbreads are wheat-flour tortillas, lavash, or pita, the filling usually consists of cold sliced meat, poultry, or fish accompanied by shredded lettuce , diced tomato or pic de Gallo, guacamole, sautéed mushrooms, bacon sautéed onions, cheese, and a sauce, such as Ranch or honey mustard.
Tortillas
In Mexico and Central America, a tortilla is a type of thin, unleavened flat Bread, made from finely ground maize / corn. In Guatemala and Mexico, there are three colors of maize dough for making tortillas white maize, yellow maize and blue maize or black maize.
Burrito
So one can always use up all the left overs and just wrap it into something amazing, flat bread a bit of this and that and we going amazing. Rice even works in a wrap, Mexicans make burritos and add it. Pulled pork and with chilli , Guacamole and caramelised onions.
Flat BreadA flatbread is a bread made with flour, water salt and then thoroughly rolled into flattened dough. Many flatbreads are unleavened, made without yeast although some are slightly leavened, such as pita BreadThere are many other optional ingredients that flatbreads may contain, such as curry powder ,diced jalapeño chilli powder , or black pepper. Olive oil or sesame oil may be added as well. Flatbreads can range from one millimeter to a few centimetres thick.
GuacamoleGuacamole is an avocado-based dip or salad first created by the Aztecs in what is now Mexico. In addition to its use in modern Mexican cuisine, it has also become part of American cuisine as a dip, condiment and salad ingredient. its great way to save money when , having friends and family. Cheap and cost effective, and always good to get the kids active while you are busy cooking.
Pico de gallo
Pick de gallo can be used in much the same way as other Mexican liquid salsa, but since it contains less liquid, it can also be used as a main ingredient in dishes such as tacos and fajitas.
RecipeIngredients
- 3/4 pound tomatoes (about 2 medium), seeded and finely diced (1 1/2 cups)
- 1/3 cup chopped cilantro.
- 1/4 cup finely chopped white onion.
- 1 small fresh jalapeño or serrano chile, finely chopped, including seeds, or more for the taste.
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice, or more to taste.
