Save and recycle good

Saving money in food after a big dinner party, brunch or bbq (braai) at home is something easy to do. Usually we get a lot of leftovers like chicken, beef, fish, bread and  vegetables. Things that can make you spend less and make a good meal, Here are some examples which I make at home: If you have some chicken  leftovers make some chicken salad or sandwich. Simply slice it in to strips and re-fry, add seasoning to it once more to change the taste, you can also add flavours and coulors by putting in herbs, peppers, sauces or even fruits.  A different idea is turning it into a stir-fry. Dice it and then add peppers, onions, broccoli salt and pepper, let it chill, put it in between two slices of bread then you have a home-made sandwich that is cheaper and easy to make with the ingredients you love the most "to your level of food style and taste".   Keep playing with your leftovers, if you have some beef  make beef stripped salad. If you want you can stir-fr

In this post I would like to share basics on how to preserve food or ingredients for a longer time, where it might be that you are staying alone at home and you are always busy.  Buying fruit and vegetables is always simple but on most times we don't consume all of them in one day. We always say we'll have that when, but before that date it's spoiled and we have to take it out, at that point it's money down the drain.  So something that will help us, is giving yourself and hour after doing grocery and just peeling some of your vegetables and plastic packing them into small packets for easy use whenever cooking. Butternut, green beans, carrots, grated tomatoes, etc. are easy to store after diced or chopped. You have to be careful cause not all fruits and veggies keep shape after defrosting e.g strawberries, and the following is good for freezing like pineapples and black berries. Check out this ideas I saw on Pi nterest: Portioning helps a lot. Remember
