Open sandwiches ,and how different types of breads work well with the toppings and also how easy is it to save money when having friends or family over.
My meaning of "open sandwich " is just basically what the names states one slice of bread as a foundation for cool toppings and great ideas, plus how creative you get with what's in your chiller.

Generally any dish where in two or more pieces of bread serve as a container or wrapper for some other food. Sandwiches are a popular type of lunch food, taken to work, school, or picnics to be eaten as part of lunch pre-made so it's easy to enjoy. The bread can be used plain, or it can be coated with one or more like spreads such as mayo, butter or honey mustard to enhance the flavours and texture. As well as being homemade, sandwiches are also widely sold in restaurants and cafes, and are sometimes served hot as well as cold. There are both savoury sandwiches, such as dali sandwiches.
Well I call it the "LET" Sandwiche Lettuce, Egg and Tomatoe
Now with the open sandwiches it's more of a presentation color, texture, taste and what you like on it as your Topping. Most open sandwiches the bread is to ones choice and the toppings such as guacamole, Poached or fried egg, any choice of cheese, sliced scallions, etc the list goes on. With a sandwich one can add more to it and get creative with toppings.

Sandwich – Large flat-topped loaf baked in a lidded square tin
Rolls – Many different varieties, shapes and sizes ranging from crusty white rolls to soft wholemeal baps.
Tortilla – A flatbread which originated in Mexico
Brioche - Originally from France. A highly enriched French bread, noted for its high butter and egg content, commonly served as a component of French desserts.
Chapatti – A south Asian bread, usually eaten with cooked dhal (lentil soup), vegetable curry, chicken and mutton curry dishes; pieces are used to wrap around and pick up each bite of the cooked dish
Ciabatta – Originally from Italy. Loaf is somewhat elongated, broad and flattish and should be somewhat collapsed in the middle
Foccacia – Also from Italy. Often punctured with a knife to relieve surface bubbling, or dotted
Naan – From Northern India and Pakistan
Tiger bread – Originated in the Netherlands
Rye - bread is a type of bread made with various proportions of flour from rye grain. It can be light or dark in color, depending on the type of flour used and the addition of coloring agents, and is typically denser than bread made from wheat flour.
